Vesak Night

All the decorations and the Vesak Lanterns added colour to the hospital and the patients too. It was a smelly night with the burning coconut oil and colourful with the Vesak Lanterns.

Vesak - Buddhist religious festival that marks the date of the greatest three events of the Lord Buddha was celebrated in the hospital. Traditionally we make vesak lanterns and light them up. The staff members made Vesak Lanterns to decorate and light up during the Vesak day. Even the patients in relatively good condition helped us in the process.

Cricket Match

The staff welfare society arranged a cricket match between the hospital staff and the post office staff. It was a change we had after a long period and we got the second place.....!

The second group (Elders of the staff) visited the Nuwaraeliya area. They wanted to enjoy a cool climate....

Staff Welfare Society Trip

The staff welfare society of the District Hospital Rakwana arranged a trip for the staff members and their family members. The first trip went on the down souths and the beaches in the area.

This is how we, enjoyed what was prepared for the Minister and the other staff...., Once they left the place.

Tasting only once they consumed

The Provincial Health Minister Provincial Director of Health Services and some other officers visited the District Hospital Rakwana on the 14th of November, 2008. The staff prepared themselves to welcome them and to get some relief to there problems. This is how they prepared items to serve and welcome them~!

Once the decorations are done, we treated the childrens with some sweets and simple toys were donated to play with....

Then we decorated our paediatric ward and treated the parents and the inward children with some sweets and toys. Decorations done by the staff and even some parents helped us in it. This is how they decorated the ward with baloons and many simple items.....

Childrens Day - 2008

Year 2008 we had a festival for the Childrens Day, that is on the 01st of October, 2008. To mark the day, we cleaned the Hospital Garden by a SHRAMDANA in which almost all the staff participated. This is how we worked
